Privacy
Bear Minimum has no accounts and never asks for your email. Games are kept in memory and are gone when the room closes. The exception is some drawings, saved without names to teach the AI judge.

While you play
The name you type, your chat messages, guesses and drawings go to our game server so the other players can see them. They're held in memory only, and are gone when the room closes or the server restarts.
Your browser remembers a random player ID (so you can rejoin a room after a refresh), the last name you used, and your progress in the daily bear, Bearktober and Guess the Bear. These stay on your device. Clearing your site data removes them.
If you rate a Guess the Bear puzzle (too easy, just right or unfair), we keep the rating with the day, which bear it was, how many tries you took and the time, but nothing about who you are. We use them to replace bears that don't work.
Drawings that teach the AI
When a round ends, the AI checks which features are on the bear. To do that the drawing is sent to our model on Hugging Face, which runs it and sends back the answer.
We save some drawings to make the AI more accurate:
- multiplayer bears that the table reviewed, with the card and how everyone voted;
- solo bears where you tapped βThe AI got this wrong?β, with the features you said you drew;
- bears the AI wasn't sure about that nobody reviewed or reported, so we can check them by hand.
Each one is saved with what the AI answered and the time, but no names, chat, player IDs or anything else about who drew it. They're kept in a private storage bucket that is never shown on the site, and copied to the computer that trains the AI. We keep them for as long as they help train it.
Please don't draw names or personal details on your bear.
The public gallery
After a round, the Artist can choose to share their bear in the gallery on the card's page. It's only published after a person approves it, and it's shown without your name. Nothing goes in the gallery unless you share it.
Ads and analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits, which keeps the game free. Google may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address and the pages you visit. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland these cookies stay off until you agree in Google's consent message. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Hosting
The game runs on Render, which keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, as any web host does. Saved drawings and the gallery are stored with Cloudflare R2.
Questions and removal
Contact us with any question, or to have a drawing removed. Saved drawings carry no names, so tell us the card and roughly when you drew it, and we'll find it.
