A team building game that fits in a meeting
Looking for a game to play with coworkers that people actually enjoy? Bear Minimum is a free drawing and guessing game that runs in the browser alongside your video call. Send one link, everyone joins with a nickname, and you can be playing within a minute. Nobody needs to draw well: the less you draw, the more you score.
Why it works for teams
- Nothing to install and no accounts. It's a web page, so it usually works even on locked-down work laptops.
- Up to 12 players in a room, which covers most stand-ups and team meetings.
- Short turns: 90 seconds to draw (or 45 in hard mode) and 30 to guess, so nobody waits long for their go.
- It levels the field. Drawing ability barely matters, because the points come from what you leave off.
- Everyone is the Artist the same number of times, so the quiet people get the spotlight too.
How to run it on a video call
- Before the meeting, open the site, create a room and copy the invite link.
- Paste the link in the meeting chat. Everyone opens it in a browser tab next to the call.
- No screen sharing needed: every player sees the bear being drawn live on their own screen.
- For a 15-minute slot, set Turns to 1. Each turn takes about two and a half minutes at most, so 6 people fit easily.
- Talk on the call while you play. Guesses go in the game's chat, and the first right answer wins the round.
Make it about your team
The host can write custom cards in the lobby, with their own answer, features and points. Use your product names, office in-jokes or a theme for the season, and switch on "only custom cards" to play with just those.
Async teams: the daily bear
For teams spread across time zones, try the daily bear: one prompt a day, the same for everyone. Each person draws it on their own time, then shares their bear and score in a team channel. The daily Guess the Bear puzzle works the same way, and makes a quick morning ritual.
Questions
Is it free for work use?
Yes. There's no paid tier, no trial and no sign-up, for teams or anyone else.
Does it work with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Slack?
Yes. The game runs in its own browser tab, so it works alongside any video or voice call. Share the invite link in the meeting chat or a Slack channel and everyone joins from there.
How long does a game take?
Each Artist's turn takes about two and a half minutes at most. With Turns set to 1, a team of 6 finishes in around 15 minutes. Turns can go up to 4 per player for a longer session.
What if our team is bigger than 12?
A room holds up to 12 players. Bigger groups can split into several rooms, or play in pairs with one screen per pair.
